Traces of a Diary é um diário de viagem cinematográfico. Através de uma série de encontros com alguns dos fotógrafos mais importantes do Japão, os realizadores refletem sobre a natureza da criação de imagens, da narrativa e do processo diarístico. Filmando com duas câmaras Krasnogorsk 3 de 16 mm, Martins e Príncipe valorizam a espontaneidade e a contingência em detrimento do tratamento estudado. É simultaneamente um diário e uma reflexão sobre o género diarístico.
Traces of a Diary é uma visão pessoal sobre alguns dos fotógrafos mais importantes da atualidade e a cidade que fotografam.

Traces of a Diary is a cinematographic travel journal. Through a series of encounters with some of Japan’s most significant photographers, the directors reflect on the nature of creating images, telling stories and the diaristic process. Filming with two 16mm Krasnogorsk 3 wind-up cameras, Martins and Príncipe value the rawness of spontaneity and contingency over studied treatment. Both a diary and a reflection on the diaristic genre.
Traces of a Diary is a personal view on some of today’s most important photographers and the city they photograph.
