With 431 pages and available in two versions—Portuguese and English—the profusely illustrated catalog contains critical essays by renowned Brazilian, European, and one North American scholar, as well as interpretive texts addressing each of the twelve projects that formed the guiding thread of the exhibition. It includes texts by José Manuel Dias da Fonseca, Nuno Sampaio, Jean-Louis Cohen, Vanessa Grossman, Daniele Pisani, Catherine Otondo, Guy Nordenson, Guilherme Wisnik, Marta Silveira Peixoto, Ruth Verde Zein, Ana Luiza Nobre, Victor Próspero, Annette Spiro, Paulo Mendes da Rocha, Marina Grinover, Stéphanie Bru, José Paulo Gouvêa, Juliana Braga, João Sodré, Alexandre Benoit, Ciro Miguel, Marcos Paulo Cereto, Sophia da Silva Telles, Angelo Bucci, Ana Vaz Milheiro, Nicolas Xavier de Carvalho, and Alexandre Delijaicov. The catalog, which opens with a conversation between Eduardo Souto de Moura and the exhibition curators Jean-Louis Cohen and Vanessa Grossman, constitutes the visible and lasting face not only of the exhibition but also of the Paulo Mendes da Rocha collection, donated to the Casa da Arquitectura in 2019.
